Brief Introduction to Diaphragm Valve
A diaphragm valve uses a flexible diaphragm and a valve body with a flow chamber to achieve opening, closing, and flow regulation. The valve is operated by pressing the diaphragm down onto the weir or seat, or lifting it to allow flow, which ensures a streamlined passage and prevents direct contact between the fluid and the valve’s moving parts. Lined diaphragm valves or diaphragm assemblies made of high-performance polymer materials provide exceptional corrosion resistance, making them suitable for strong acids, strong alkalis, salts, oxidizing and reducing agents, and a wide range of organic media.

Diaphragm valves are ideal for shut-off and regulating applications in pipelines carrying highly corrosive, viscous, or particulate-laden media. They are widely used in chemical industry, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food and beverage, water treatment, chlor-alkali systems, and other industries requiring high cleanliness and reliable corrosion resistance. They can replace ball valves, globe valves, and other regulating valves in demanding fluid control environments.

Design Features

  • Compact Piston-Actuated Pneumatic Diaphragm Valve The valve is powered by compressed air and features a packing-free design with an elastomeric diaphragm as the throttling element. Its streamlined flow path ensures minimal flow resistance and maximum flow capacity.
  • Diaphragm Isolation System The diaphragm effectively separates the lower valve chamber from the upper bonnet chamber, protecting stem and disc components above the diaphragm from media corrosion while eliminating external leakage. This innovative design removes the need for traditional stuffing box sealing arrangements.
  • FEP-Lined Corrosion Resistant ConstructionFeaturing diaphragms made of FEP fluoropolymer-rubber composite and valves with FEP lining, this series is suitable for handling highly aggressive media, with the exception of molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine.
